Bowling History
I started bowling 37 years ago, with my in laws, in the Airport League at the Rama Lanes. I bowled while pregnant with both sons and for a few years after.
I bowled for a few years in the Firefighter’s League at the Nortown Lanes with sons, Brad and Jon. While the boys were in YBC at the Nortown I helped out within the YBC program.
I currently bowl in the Centennial League, Thursday evenings at the Golden Mile Lanes; I also spare for the Smittys Good Life League on Tuesday evenings at the Golden Mile, as well as had bowled for 3 seasons in that league. My high game is a 250 with a five bagger; and my high triple is 584.
I have competed in the Fun Bowl for the past few years, twice making the Regina Zone team to compete at Provincials. In 2019, at the urging of the boys’ friends and sponsorship by Jon, I competed in the Glencairn Classic on the Handicapped side. I finished second overall in qualifying, won my first match, but lost the second one.
I am a bowling groupie, fan and cheerleader for sons, Jon and Brad, daughter in laws, and the boy’s friends at their Zone, Provincial and National Events.
Personal History
Married with two sons, Brad and Jon, both of whom still bowl in leagues and compete in the Open as well as cash tournaments.
I have two great daughters in laws as well as two granddaughters.
Retired after a 31 year career with SaskTel.
I fostered Sidney, a female Schnauzer, for a breeder in Regina for 5 years and once Sidney retired, I adopted her as my own.
I got Sugar June 6th, 2022. After Sidney's unexpected and quick passing April 6, 2022, she was 11. The same thing as with Sidney; I will foster until she is retired from the breeding program; and then she will be my forever girl. One of her previous pregnancies produced 10 puppies.
Cross Stitching, flower gardening are passions of mine.
Fun Fact
A fun claim to fame for me is that I have beaten both Brad and Jon in a game while bowling with them in Leagues. After which, they usually come back with a 300 game, lol!
I was commissioned to do a large counted cross stitch picture for a friend of a friend. After a few months and countless hours it was completed and sent off to its owner. A treasured fact for me and also for the friend whom I did it for; was that my completion date of the project was the anniversary of her Moms passing (who had stitched the original).
