Bowling History
I started bowling in Prince Albert in 1977. When I moved back to Weyburn , I continued bowling. I was league secretary for many years. In 1988, I moved to Regina and bowled at Glencairn for a few years, then moved to Nortown Lanes. I spent many years as league secretary for leagues at Nortown. I started volunteering with YBC at Nortown in the early 1990's and continue to help out whenever I can. I am a certified coach and have taken teams to YBC Nationals, winning a gold medal one year and bronze medal another year. I have earned the nickname "Gramma G" around the bowling alley. I had to step back from volunteering for a time, but I am slowly trying to incorporate volunteering back into my schedule.
Personal History
I grew up in Weyburn and once I graduated from high school, moved to Saskatoon. I spent a few years in Saskatoon before moving to Prince Albert. I moved back to Weyburn for a few years, then on to Regina. I have two children, two step-children, 3 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great grandchildren.
I work for the Saskatchewan Legislative Library as a library technician. I have been at the library for 35 years. I also work part-time at Nortown Lanes. I have really enjoy working at the lanes, as all the bowlers and the children are great people and I like interacting with all of them.
I enjoy doing crafts (crocheting being my favourite), jigsaw puzzles, and baking. I also love to spend time at my cabin at White Bear Lake in the summer.
